[Gnumed-devel] GNUmed / Knoppix-CD

Hi all,

I am more than happy to announce the immediate availability of the brandnew 
GNUmed-CD. It is based on Knoppix and can be used to show where GNUmed is at 
from the end-user's perspective. After countless hours of testing and 
remastering I am happy to release this version.

Here is what you get:
1)complete Debian-distribution (Knoppix) 
2)all features of Knoppix itself - too many to list - see www.knoppix.net for 
details
3)option to install Knoppix on your harddrive

3) GNUmed - runnig completely off the CD. no need to install anything
4) choice of connecting to local or publicly available database

This is it folks. Next version is scheduled for release in six months. 
Hopefully by then we will be able to provide a version with increased user 
interaction.

Here is what works so far:

- search patients via patient search widget
- open patient record by means of German health insurance chipcards (thanks to 
Martin Preuss - www.libchipcard.de)
- document archive viewer
- German xDT-file viewer
- bmi-calculator
- pregnancy calculator (?)
- medical databases ()?

- last but not least : our gui
