I believe they previously tried to fit the Canadian data into the original 
drugref schema (table structures) however it took them all day and I wonder if 
it would have been any result of not having suitable indexes else some postgres 
configurational issues.

Anyhow apparently as a result of that frustration, they decided not to bother 
putting the Canadian data *inside* the originally-designed drugref tables but, 
instead, *alongside* the original drugref tables, but *inside* the drugref 
database.

However, as a further result, the Canadian content was not being represented in 
the API so they had to do something in order that the API would be able to 
deliver desired data via the externally (Oscar) calling XML-RPC.

At least, that is what I *think* they said :-)
