Hi all,
Recently I was contacted regarding GNUmed on Mandriva. Nothing easier then
that I thought. We have Mandriva packages ready to go at
http://download.opensuse.org/repositories/home:/SebastianHilbert/Mandriva_2010/
Think again. We have the packages available there. However there seems to be
no easy way to add that to the Mandriva repositories.
This directory is lacking the metainformation. Now what. Fortunately there is
an alternative package manager called smart on Mandriva.
Install smart-gui from the available sources in Mandriva. Then close the
software package manager gui and open smart package manager from the menu.
Go to menu and select 'Edit' > 'Channel' > 'New' > 'Provide channel
infomation' > 'RPM metadata
Provide an alias such as 'GNUmed repository'. Put in
'home:SebastianHilbert:GNUmed' as the name. Put
'http://download.opensuse.org/repositories/home:/SebastianHilbert/Mandriva_2010/'
in the name field and save it.
Now you can search for gnumed , select it and install it.
While doing that I found out that the names of some of the dependencies are
wrong. I am correcting that now.
Come on do they ever expect Joe average install 3d party software like that ?
