I have been forwared more instructions for GNUmed on MacOS Tiger
A) GNUmed server
1.) install MacPorts (e.g. 1.8.2) via dmg from macports.org
2.) install Porticus
3.) install the port py25-psycopg2 through porticus and select postgresql84
- this will install python25, postgresql8.4 and all dependencies
4.) install python_select through porticus
5.) run sudo python_select python25 from a shell
6.) install the port py25-mx-base
7.) download gnumed-server.13.4.tgz from gnumed website
8.) unpack the files into /tmp
9.) open the file boostrap-local-first.conf and remove the # in front of
password =
in the section user postgres
10.) get Postgresql8.4 dmg from enterprisedb.com and install
11.)replace the script bootstrap-latest.sh in /tmp/gnumed-
server.13.4/server/bootstrap
- changes include setting to let it find psql and dropdb and well as a
changed syntax for su
12.) become root by running sudo su
13.) run boostrap-latest.sh
14.) it will ask you the password for postgres user twice (you specify that
during postgresql installation)
15.) type yes when asked if you want to boostrap
16.) type the postgres password at the end when it wants to drop staging
databases
We should pack all this into a macports port.
B) GNUmed client
supposedly a Mac client for 0.7.4 is out. I have not seen it yet and it
supposedly locks up. As far as I have heard it is based on the macports stuff
above
Alternative is to run from sources
1.) install MacPorts (e.g. 1.8.2) via dmg from macports.org
2.) install Porticus
3.) install the port py25-psycopg2 through porticus and select postgresql84
- this will install python25, postgresql8.4 and all dependencies
4.) install python_select through porticus
5.) run sudo python_select python25 from a shell
6.) install the port py25-mx-base and py25-wxpython
7.) download gnumed-client.0.7.4.tgz from gnumed website
8.) unpack the files into the users home direcotory
9.) find gm-from-vcs.sh and run it from a shell as user
I hope I hear from the person reporting the client app again so we can produce
a dmg
Sebastian
