If you cd into your downloaded server package e.g. on Mac OS

        /Users/djb/Downloads/gnumed-server.16.0/server

you can run

        ./gm-fingerprint_db.py <database> <gm-dbo-password>

e.g.

        ./gm-fingerprint_db.py gnumed_v16 gm-dbo

which creates for me, in this same directory, the file

        gm_db-gnumed_v16-fingerprint.log

which contains

        Fingerprinting GNUmed database ...
        
        Name: gnumed_v16
        Schema hash: 0bcf44ca22c479b52976e5eda1de8161
        Size: 134 MB
        Patients: 44
        Contacts: 125
        Episodes: 46
        Issues: 18
        Results: 19
        Vaccinations: 0
        Documents: 21
        Objects: 26

(there had been talk of including a copy of such a file in the server package 
but I did not see one in mine)
