I tried description but I am for some reason not able to get placeholder to 
work for me.
Could you locate any error in the file I sent you apart from itemize

I did not test what you posted, however notice that after playing with 
different options (and for reasons I cannot recall but maybe recorded somewhere 
on my laptop) I did not keep to


        \begin{itemize}
                ...
        \end{itemize}

but instead chose to use

        \begin{description}
                ...
        \end{description}

so you might try 'description'

??
