This is typically due to something crashing below wxPython -
or a layer below wxPython being improperly used.

- Did you updgrade GNUmed just prior to the start of the crashes ?

- Did you upgrade anything related to the (graphics) stack (libc,
  gtk, wxpython, X, KDE, GNOME, wxwidgets, python) ?
