My answer is only in reference to Jim's question which was -
I assumed - about current functionality in GNUmed which is
the "view audit log" under "Tools". That functionality would
require GRANTs for gm-doctor for ALL audit tables (and then
some) PLUS a subsequent removal of the in-client requirement
to input the gm-dbo password.

So, just adding the GRANTs we've been talking about will not
enable gm-doctor's to access the audit log w/o knowing the
gm-dbo password.

With regard to YOUR special functionality - yes, that will
work for you (and anyone else using your code).
