GNUSTEP_BUILD_DIR should work for simple projects ... but gnustep-base is
complex and I haven't had the time to go through all of it and fix/update
it to make sure it works with it.
I'm not sure I've finished it for bundles and frameworks too. :-(
So, you're not misusing it, what you're doing is right, it's a (known)
bug (better described as 'unfinished job'). :-)
If you spot any error yourself and/or have an idea how to fix things, I
appreciate patches.
I'll look into it anyway, trying to fit it into my busy gnustep-make todo
list. I had almost forgot about it, so I'm happy you reminded me I still
have to do this! Btw the fact that someone is actually interested in
building gnustep-base using GNUSTEP_BUILD_DIR, and it's not just purely
theoretical, makes it a lot more interesting :-)
If you want to file a bugzilla bug for gnustep (look on www.gnustep.org
where it tells you how to submit bugs, you end up on savannah.gnu.org for
project gnustep where you can insert a new bug), that would be a permanent
reminder for me that I have to do it :-)
Thanks for your patience.
