I believe a pure GNUstep environment might be a very interesting thing to work on. Also, which version of the Rik theme are you using here? I also noticed the custom GWorkspace icon as well as the Mac-ish system preferences very nice.
Looking at the icon set, he is using the mainstream one. Rik got some updates in this period especially on the art side. With Bertrand we are doing efforts to finish the indeterminate progress bar (IPB). We done all the work but there is a problem on the size of the IPB; it doesn’t fit properly inside the cell, and with Ivan we discovered some issues to solve in -gui too thanks to the latest Rik hacking session. I asked for the copyright assignment to the FSF, I just need the time to complete the signature. However everyone can test the IPB with the GSTest.app, trying to understand what is happening and help me clarifying the problem. One problem is, of course, that the cell of the IPB is resizable in height; on Cocoa this is not possible, same thing for the NSSearchFieldCell, just try with Xcode to resize this two widgets to see.
I can't stress enough how cool this is. One issue that has always plagued GNUstep on X is the lack of full control of the window border. On X, for instance, the curved corners of the windows don't show properly. With your wayland backend they seem to display perfectly.
I'm looking forward to more. I'd also like to set up a repo where we can start building a pure GNUstep desktop environment.
I’d like to contribute in a project like this.
