Details:

If a message is a HTML mail, all linked external images or ressources are
loaded by default if the message is opened.

Linking images is regularly abused by both commercial and criminal senders and
can be dangerous (compromised) or at least annoying (tracking, privacy).

GNUMail definately needs an option to disable loading HTML mail images that
can be reached easily. And it would be good if it was active by default. It
would also be good if the explanation for this was included in help features.

Mail clients usually have the ability to show a banner inside the message
viewer that external content wasn't loaded for security reasons and the user
is asked to click a button to load it on demand. Please see the attached
example.
