Ghehe, one of my favourite ones is the quote which opens chapter 15 "Debugging
and Optimization" of "Practical C Programming", by Steve Oualline, edited by
O'Reilly:

"Bloody instructions which, being learned, return
 to plague the inventor"
  -- Shakespeare, on debugging
  [Macbeth, Act 1, Scene 7]

and Chapter 11 "Bit Operations" also has a nice one:

Actually, the first meaningful chapter of Oualline's book is entirely dedicated
to how to document and comment programs and make them cleaner to read and
understand. That is explained even before the mandatory "Hello world!" program
;)
