Congrats to the whole GOMD team. I feel GOMD is going to be a very central piece of openMosix usability and management. Good job

Hi to all openMosix users+developers,

the gomd-team prouldy presents the gomd-beta release now!

This is the first release which provides binary and source
packages for Mandrake, Redhat, SuSE and Debian.
Also there is an ebuild for Gentoo available.
We hope that this will encourage even more people to test+use it.
Bug-reports and feature requests are always welcome.

Downloads are available at :

        http://savannah.nongnu.org/projects/gomd/

For all those who do not yet know the gomd :
gomd is a daemon which gets information from the nodes
of an openMosix cluster. It has to run on every node
in order to collect data and it waits for commands to execute.

There is also a programming API available to make it very easy
for the developer to get informations of the cluster-nodes
using the libgomd.

The gomd-distribution provides a collection of examples
showing you how to use the gomd+libgomd (e.g. shell, perl, java, c/c++, qt).

Here are some special features from the gomd:
- cluster-wide installation (using oMFS)
- basic monitoring of openMosix information
- enhanced monitoring of system+process-state(s)
- gomd-autodiscovery + gomd2gomd communication
- Secure Cluster-wide (command) eXecution (SCX)
- cluster-snapshot with html-report
- preliminary ACL support
- auto-testing after installation
- many usefull examples
....

coming soon :
- support for checkpointing by chpox
- java-libgomd interface

The gomd team hopes that gomd will be usefull for
you too and wishes good fun with it :)

Matt

The feature you'd like to have is probably already installed on your
Linux system.
