Uhm... The daemon works also on kernels not patched and I think it can work
also on OSX without problem. Maybe it will lack all the functionalities but
it could run, flawlessy. :)

About portability...
As Max correctly said, GOMD was build with oM in mind and ATM oM works only
on GNU/Linux: it means our primary effort is towards this kind of support.
Said that, I'm _really_ happy to see the _whole_ project running on other
platforms (including OSX :))) ) and I'd like to support this kind of port.

PS: Johnny, roeles => a small hint (if you don't know it): try Gentoo on
your Apple notebooks so the daemon will be able to read from /proc dir.
