I was thinking something like this. The tabs could be renamed somehow, and if you clicked on the tab bar, it would make a new tab(profile). The tab bar itself could be disabled in the preferences or something. The tab bar could also be at the bottom, or below the visual metronome.

Also, an additional feature request I thought of. It'd be nice if you could set eighths, sixteenths, triplets, and other subbeats to play without changing the base tempo and adding accents. For instance, if your song was at 160, but you wanted to practice a 16th note run, you'd have to set gtick to tempo to 640 bpms with an accent on every four beats. It'd be better if you could just switch on subbeats(or whatever you want to call them).

thanks for the fast responses,

Hi Steven,

I'm not an official gtick developer, but I've been writing some patches
lately, so allow me to reply to your mail anyway.

Okay, so let me get this straight. The use case for this is songs that
change tempo or rhythm one or more times, and you need a quick way to
change the tempo to a predefined setting at the press of a button.
Sounds like a very reasonable request to me. The challenge here, in my
opinion, is to come up with a user interface that is not too
complicated. Something like memory set-reset buttons would do the trick,
but how to represent that nicely in the UI? Hmm...

That's one thing that's been bugging me as well. Thenths of a
beat-per-minute isn't a really useful precision. Luckily, it's easily
fixed :) I'll cook up a patch for this as soon as I have time.

Thanks for the feedback!
