Thanks for the suggestions. After some more tinkering, I fixed it. I
think the problem was that I didn't realize that since guile-readline
is treated like a separate project, I needed to apply more vigorous
autofooing in there, in addition to the incantations at the top level.
I'll send the versioning diff in a bit.
