Though thinking further, maybe this is only a problem for libguile,
and people are a lot less likely to want to dynamic-link specific
versions of that, though that doesn't mean they'll never need to.
Putting the guile version in the lib name would fix that too, but I
think there's still a reasonably strong sentiment against
libguile-12-gwrap-glib-2-gl-3-whatever-4.
I guess the right way to start is still probably to see if we can fix
libtool and/or libguile-ltdl, and if so, that'll change the range of
available options...
