Right. guile-doc's copy of texinfo.tex was a few decades out of date.
I've pulled down the latest texinfo.tex, with which goops builds OK,
and fixed a few new problems with r4rs and r5rs. (The new texinfo.tex
doesn't like @c occurring inside @t{...}.)
So, finally, everything should build to dvi now.
