wow cool, more wrapped .so libraries to play with.  :->

i'd like to start discussion on installation directories in order to try
to get a "recommended layout" into some guile documentation.  my chief
concern is that PREFIX/share should not contain .so files (or even
symlinks to them), since that tree is intended to be architecture
neutral.  unfortunately, many packages do this anyway due to lack of a
standard.

so.... let's hammer out some standard that preserves PREFIX/share
neutrality and (in the process, hehe) write some programs to analyze and
recommend changes to packages currently in apparent abberence, as well
as auto* snippets to make conformance as painless as possible.

has this been discussed previously?
