I have a working one using cond-expand, if that helps.

I have a working translation of Olin's code, and I've been trying to
get the licensing issues worked out with both him (for this) and Oleg
(for and-let*) (apologies if I've got the wrong people with the
respective implementations), and one of them was ready to do the
assignments (and may already have), but I don't think I've heard back
from the other. I'll try to check back with them soon.

Ahh, so we don't need an and-let-star anymore. Great. I'll just see
about srfi-1, then.
