some random ideas (bash): inline the wasteful bash->guile trampoline,
extend backtick interpolation to interpret scheme, extend builtin
expr(1).  for gzip: define a generic "installer" interface, that
includes both uncompressing and running some "post" code, so that you
have gzip:tar.gz::gzinstall:gzi.
