I succeeded in installing guile 2.0.3 after I installed gcc 4.6.2 separately from Xcode installation.

So I waited patiently and move onto the next stage but I still got an error in make:

These are benign; we should get around to fixing them, but they do not

This step takes approximately forever ;-).  Or, 4 minutes or so on my
machine.  But if you wait long enough, it does continue.
