That makes sense, and we cannot remove the entries from the
tables.sql, as it may break the database.
Still having the ability to understand if a given hardware worked in old distributions seems very useful to me as it enables to potentially
detect if some hardware stopped working at some point.

That use case is not completely hypothetical as for instance, at some
point the radeon driver stopped working in linux-libre.

Since we found out, I added back the ability to make that driver work in linux-libre for the GPUs I had access to. Practically speaking that driver enables features like native resolution, multi-displays and so
on.

So if we manage to find other hardware in this case, we might also be
able to fix them relatively easily.

In the long run it might be a good idea to enable people to also have
different results (works, doesn't work, etc) with different
distributions and somehow know more or less when that information was
added as things also evolve, especially with distributions like
Parabola that are rolling release.

Good idea. Related issues include <https://h-node.org/issues/view/en/360/2/006ae462b2dc0ed6bdcf10782e0434b1> and <https://h-node.org/issues/view/en/289/2/006ae462b2dc0ed6bdcf10782e0434b1>. I will create a bug and explore the feasibility.

Denis.
