One reason to not use C++ is that it might screw up the software for use in
other C-programs.

Sorry, my MacOS software does not handle bz2, only tar, bar, gz, Z and such
more traditional stuff -- and because of lack of hard disk space, I had to
throw out my Mach2.5/4.4BSD, so I do no have the gnu tar either. And the
other files (14 MB) are getting too big to be picked down with a 56 KB
modem.

-- I wrote the Berkely dept, asking about available in other formats.
Pix-maps is both strange and silly. Let's see what they can come up with.
