Why do you top post, if you first ask, then get the reply that the other is
normal on technical lists?
Because the style "inserting comments" does not seem to prescribe
either top-posting or bottom-posting when one doesn't wish to respond
to any particular comment?

In technical discussions one usually wants the interlacing, so that the details can be followed, truncating all that is not relevant for the comments, but leaving enough that the readership do not have to backtrack.

In addition, on GNU lists, it is favored to keep the cc, as not everyone may be on the list.
