I've updated http://www.chezmarshall.freeserve.co.uk/elisp/vcvss.html
and the source to fix a few problems and removed calls to kill-region
so that it no longer interferes with the kill-ring :-)

Main issue (in my eyes) is that vss doesn't appear to update to the
latest version on a get:

ss diff dra_Item.cpp -DU -YMe
Diffing: $/DRA/Draapi/dra_Item.cpp
Against: J:\Me\Dra\source\dra_Item.cpp

12c12
< VSS File: $Header: /DRA/Draapi/dra_Item.cpp 11 31/10/01 13:30 Me $
---
> VSS File: $Header: /DRA/Draapi/dra_Item.cpp 10 31/10/01 13:27 Me $

bash-2.05$ ss get dra_Item.cpp -I- -YMe
dra_Item.cpp
bash-2.05$ ss diff dra_Item.cpp -DU -YMe
Diffing: $/DRA/Draapi/dra_Item.cpp
Against: J:\Me\Dra\source\dra_Item.cpp

12c12
< VSS File: $Header: /DRA/Draapi/dra_Item.cpp 11 31/10/01 13:30 Me $
---
> VSS File: $Header: /DRA/Draapi/dra_Item.cpp 10 31/10/01 13:27 Me $

bash-2.05$

If anyone knows how to get around this without deleting first, it
would be useful (I've already tried microsoft.public.vstudio.sourcesafe
without success)

Oh and if Martin Thompson can read this, email to the address he
supplied is not getting through

I'm not going to try again; this message has been in the queue too long.
