I think the Jonathan meant the font DIALOG that pops up by default,
not the menu you get after setting w32-use-w32-font-dialog to nil. The
latter has not changed, but the former now includes proportional
fonts, since Emacs is capable of using them in 21.1.
An option to limit this to monospaced fonts is probably useful though,
and should perhaps be the default, since using a proportional font for
the default face still has some strange behaviour.
