I find it much easier to solve problems like this by installing
Cygwin, and using bash as the shell. There are many places in emacs
where "Unix behavior" is hard-coded.
I used to use Cygwin, but got fed up of not being able to run executables
directly from Cygwin..
I also prefer using bash because it (like Emacs) is the only shell
that runs on _every_ machine I have to use; so I only have to know one
shell, and one editor.
Good idea.
Assuming no magic fixes are posted, I might try and have a furtle around in
the insides of Ada-mode to see if I can use Francis's suggestion.
Being a complete novice at elisp where would I be best sending
questions? This group, or is there a better place?
I'm aware of the elisp tutorials and so on, so I'll start there, and see
where I end up.
Cheers for the help

Stephen,
Oops - sorry about the earlier email fragment - a bad case of assuming
ctrl-e would get me to the end of the line (but it sends email under Eudora)
