[h-e-w] component software rcs and 21.2

I recently upgraded emacs to 21.2.1 and my version control hooks for
component software RCS have stopped working for check-in and
check-ouut.

Specifically, when I try to check-in/out a file, I get the fllowing
in the minibuffer, where it is an old or new file:
Wrong type argument: sequencep, 67

The *Messages* buffer says:
vc-do-command: Wrong type argument: sequencep, 67

I tried with the vc-hooks.el from Component Software and the vc-hooks
that comes with emacs...
