FYI, I am running Windows XP Pro, on a Pentium III, 450 MHz, with 393MB of
RAM.  I'm assuming part of my slowness is due to the fact that NTEmacs is
starting on Windows startup.  So the 15 minutes I quoted is somewhat skewed.

| emacs loads even faster than notepad - I don't even see messages
| flicker in the minibuffer. It is up, fully loaded, and ready
| to go by the time I take my finger off the mouse button
