But isn't the point of msys to convert unix paths to windows paths as
needed? 
The msys page claims...

"MSYS was created out of a long-lived desire to provide the MinGW community
a Minimal SYStem, with which a configure script could be executed. This is
finally available from the MinGW download area on SourceForge. "

Though i suppose there's questions as to whether ntemacs should be dependent
on msys for building (i.e. if ntemacs was bui;t using the std. configure
scripts, i guess this would stop other compilers from being able to build
ntemacs?). Not sure. Anyway, would be interested to know your thoughts on
this.
