[h-e-w] Emacs 21.3

Just downloaded source and compiled using Cygwin tools. Be aware that if you
have a largish collection of emacs utilities that you have gathered over the
years, some of them will "break" Emacs quite severely i.e. "Abort, Retry or
Ignore" type breakage :-)

Just in my own case, I have commented out references to the following
packages in my .emacs:

tmmofl
folding
session
elite (game :-))
ibuffer
browse-kill-ring
cygwin-mount
colour-theme

Some of these I loaded over the years, tried and never used afterwards :-)
So there is no big loss, but others, such as colour-theme and tmmofl are
going to have a big impact on my emacs environment.

Next step is to check for updates of the packages that I really need and if
that doesn't fix the problem, either revert to 21.2 or try and fix the
problems myself.

So be very wary of this release, I haven't seen so many packages that break
a release in all of my time using Emacs - and I've been loading and
compiling Emacs for Windoze since about 19.21 :-) Perhaps there is a single
root cause that is easy to fix? (but probably not easy to find :-)). It was
interesting to note that I either received the "Abort, Retry or Ignore" or
everything seems to have worked fine. So there was no "in between" measures
:-)

Anyway, watch your backs :-)

Peter
