W2k pro, German version, with whatever Windows Update felt like
installing.

Hm. That's possible. I'm running WinKey and Cool Desk, but I think
I saw the problem even before I got Cool Desk. Hm. I'd rather not
give up WinKey, unless I could replace it with something else with
similar functionality.
