Check whether gnuserv is still around from a previous instance of emacs.
If you start the gnuserv server with
(gnuserv-start)
and then kill the emacs from the task manager (that is, something that is not
the
normal C-c C-k ending), then the gnuserv will sit at 100% CPU utilization until
you kill gnuserv from the task manager.
