[h-e-w] Cannot put .emacs in C:\. Help.

Subject:	[h-e-w] Cannot put .emacs in C:\. Help.
Date:	Wed, 23 Aug 2006 12:58:56 -0700 (PDT)

Cannot put .emacs in C:\ (company policy).  I tried putting it into
C:\.emacs.d (which
emacs created during weak moment in the PC setup yesterday).  I tried in
"Documents and Settings\username".  Nothing has worked.  Help.

I am using emacs 21.3.1 for NT.

Thanks for any help anyone can give me.
