your patch, *you* should push for it.

Actually, I think Lennart pushed it enough at the time.

Not enough, I just did not have time to finish.

That includes convincing people
that it is clean and useful and fixes a real problem (or adds an
interesting new functionality), so it is worth the added complexity.

FWIW, I'm quite opposed to low-level keyboard hooks, because they
bring in an enormous complexity when one wants to deal with non-ASCII
keyboard input.

I do not believe that. It is about making it possible handle keyboard keys individually if you want it. It does not affect other keyboard keys.

And as I have said before I have been distributing the low level keyboard hooks with the patched version of Emacs+EmacsW32 for very long, thousands of people have downloaded it. I have never heard any complaints.
