Subject: [h-e-w] 23.1.50; emacs goes into a popup window loop on trying to load a corrupt jpg

I have a jpg file which has some form of corruption. If I load it (via dired) in the unpatched emacs windows build I get a single error message in the minibuffer - that is fine and (for me) the expected behaviour.

If I load it in the patched version I get a (sometimes) endless sequence of popup windows -

JPEG Library Error
Corrupt JPEG data: premature end of data segment

I get two popups initially, when I then reclick on the emacs window to get focus another two and so on. Attempting to close the emacs window, gives me another. Sometimes I can close emacs sometimes I have to kill it via the process manager.
