Hello Peter,

there are unfortunately not much details in your question, so let
me ask for some. There is some wild guessing involved when I ask
these questions, so pardon me if you think they make look you
silly.

Some basic stuff first:

Did you modify dbconfig? If so, what did you change?

Are you using one ore more databases? Is the file
.../etc/gnats/databases (global list of databases) in place? Is
there a database named "default"? Did you run "mkdb" for every
additional database?

Are you sure that you got the syntax of the categories file, the
responsible file, etc. right?

Yes, it is supposed to do this. There has been some discussions
recently concerning the regular expressions used for this
purpose. There may be a fix in the CVS.

Can you give us an example of a subject line where it does not
work?

PL> - In GNATSweb, whenever I try to set the category in a
PL> query (and not have it set to "all") it comes back with a
PL> "Return code: 415 - Invalid expression." Is that a known

I am not yet using GNATS4, but I don't remember such a thing
mentioned on the list. Do your categories have other characters
than alpha-numerics in their names? Do you encounter the problem
whenever you select a single category (no matter which), or only
with a certain category, or only when you select several
categories?

Please provide more info to the list. Please do not send it to
me, as I am currently very busy, and I will leave for vacation
this weekend.
