Wrote too soon.
Found tinysword.el which works perfectly.

Subject: word search
Hello,
I would like a function which acts like isearch-forward but gets it's string
argument from the word point is currently in.
Is there an already existing function that does this in a package somewhere?
Searched for "word" and "point" etc with apropos-command but found only
ispell having a similiar match.
Or probably am missing something....
Thank you,
Keith
