use msb.el. For example add

| (require 'msb)
| (msb-mode 1)
| (global-set-key [C-down-mouse-1] 'msb)
`----
to your .emacs or site-start.el file.
Optional: With the variable *msb-menu-cond* you can add more rules how to
split your buffers.
