Hi there, I'm running Mandrake 9.0 and using emacs 21.2.1 and I was
wondering how I can change the default font size to be smaller.
Put something like this in your .Xdefaults file:
Emacs*Font: -*-courier-medium-r-*--*-120-*-*-*-*-iso8859-15
courier is the family
medium is the weight
r(egular) is the slant
120 is the size (in tenths of a point)
iso8859 is the character set registry
15 is the character set encoding

also like to know how to get rid of the permissons when I list the
contents of a directory.
Try `C-x C-d' instead of `C-x d'.
