The meaming of ERC used in commit message.

I noticed that several git commit messages using the terminology ERC:

$ git log |grep -m1 'ERC:'
    ERC: Use 'string-replace' only on Emacs 28 and later

But I can't figure out the meaning of this terminology. Any hints will
be helpful.
