Hi Heime,

I guess that you want ":init-value nil", and maybe also ":global t",
in define-minor-mode... this is what I use in eev:

  (define-minor-mode eev-mode
    "(Big docstring)"
    :init-value nil
    :global t
    :lighter " eev"
    :group 'eev)
