[Help-gnu-radius] Hung children

Using  the gnu-radius-0.96 on Linux  7.1 the number of radiusd processes
gradually keeps increasing until the load on the system is very high. We
have to kill all the procs and start again. It seems to authenticate OK.

I see messages in radius.log about:

    "Killing unresponsive AUTH child pid nnnn"

but the process(s) never goes away.

Any help is appreciated.
