Hi,
My logs are filled with these messages:
Acct.notice: (ACCTREQ nas02 18 XXX Stop 000443C1): Dropping packet:
Maximum number of children active
Acct.notice: (ACCTREQ nas02 85 XXX Stop 00044433): Dropping packet:
Maximum number of children active
Acct.notice: (ACCTREQ nas02 86 XXX Stop 00044464): Dropping packet:
Maximum number of children active
Acct.notice: (ACCTREQ nas02 87 XXX Stop 0004443A): Dropping packet:
Maximum number of children active
Auth.notice: (AUTHREQ nas02 26 XXX): Dropping packet: Maximum number of
children active
I don't think it's the max-requests, I have these set at 3000 total,
2000 acct, and 1000 auth. It seems to happen when the box is under
heavy load, and every other day or so during a mysql dump of the
database (heavy load also, I'm assuming). NAS's that retry are fine,
normally 1 of 5 or so gets through, but is there a better way to solve
this?
Thanks,
Dale
