[Help-gsl] Speed problem

I have this problem.
GSL 1.6 compiled by myself is five/ten time slower than GSL included in ubuntu (1.5.90, same one I think). I've compiled with configure/make, no options, and installed in a non-default dir. 

I've compiled with gcc3.4 on a I386 platform.
Have you an idea?
