Hi Ricardo,

Yes, this is certainly possible, I'm living proof!

The best way it to install using DarwinPorts.

1) Download darwin ports from: http://darwinports.opendarwin.org/downloads/DarwinPorts-1.2.1-10.4.dmg 2) update the port list by type this in the terminal: sudo port -d selfupdate

3) Is gsl an available port (the answer is yes) search by typing: port list gsl

    4) Install it, type: sudo port install gsl

5) Have lots of coffee! (Installation can take quite a while because your building form source so probably best to leave it over night - I can't remember how long it took to build for me - sorry).

Good luck!

Dan.

Hi,
I would like to know if it is possible install gsl in
Mac OS X (Tiger). Particularly, it is possible to make
it work with Xcode?
Thanks,

Hi Guys:

I've never tried DarwinPorts. I'll have to check it out!
If you are building from source, everything should just work
except if you have an Intel Mac. If that is the case, then see
http://article.gmane.org/gmane.comp.lib.gsl.general/533

As to Xcode.  I've not used it very much, but as I understand it;
it should be able to work with most GNU stuff. There's a short
discussion of this somewhere in the Xcode documentation, but I don't
have time to find it right now. If it has some nice features, please
let us know.

Rodney
