Problem on GNU instalation: Hanging on "start:"

I'm having a problem while trying to install gnu, when i use grub to start the boot it hangs on 
"start (hd0,2)/hurd/ext2fs.static: "
my hurd is installed on a primary ide HD on the third partition.

How do I get past this?
