Hi Samuel,

I guess this is more of a VBox issue . 
Instead I was able to install Debian HURD using the prepared CD image on 
http://ftp.debian-ports.org/debian-cd/hurd-i386/current/.

I would like to contribute to any documentation aspects., if its feasible..
