Okay, so just to recap, we're going to stick to a "flat" look, with
the exception of the "cylinder" menus, pretty exclusively, to keep the
hardware requirements down. And we're trying to get a nice "flowing"
effect/look that consumes a minimum of hardware resources as well. So,
given that, what are our options? We've talked about replacing pixels
with animated bitmaps, and I think I read something about bringing
back the "wave" effect from LW5. I personally liked that effect, but I
can understand leaving it out if it's too difficult to bring back.

What are some other ways we can get LW6 to look nicer? What are some
more options, from the coding standpoint? What more are we willing to
do?
